Huawei Global Analyst Summit 2020 (HAS 2020) is hosted by Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd., and its affiliates (Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. and its affiliates are hereinafter, collectively, referred to as "Huawei", "we", "us", and "our") will provide various technical and management services for the event. Huawei understands how important your privacy is to you and respects it. This Personal Data Protection Statement ("this Statement") explains how Huawei uses and protects your personal data and privacy during HAS 2020. Please read this Statement carefully.


This Statement may not address all possible data processing scenarios. Huawei may provide specific personal data processing statements through supplementary statements or prior to collection.

1.How We Collect & Use Your Personal Data


Personal data refers to any data that, either on its own or jointly with other data, can be used to identify a natural person. Upon reading and consenting to this Statement, your personal data will be collected from using our products or services in order to update you on the latest about the event and provide you with premium meeting services. The following describes when we process your personal data, what type of personal data we process, as well as how and why we process your personal data.


1.1 If you are attending HAS 2020 in person and need us to arrange your itinerary and meals, Huawei staff will collect your personal information (via email or other agreed-upon ways), including your name, gender, enterprise name, nationality, job position, email address, passport details (passport number, place of issue, and expiration date), personal ID number, date of birth, phone number, flight information (flight number, departure and arrival dates, and airports), accommodation information (check-in & check-out dates), special dietary needs, mode of transportation (vehicle information), health status, travel history, etc. Such data will be used for your visa invitation letter, attendance badges and passes, travel and accommodation arrangements, and protection against COVID-19.


1.2 If you are attending HAS 2020 in person and choose to connect to our Wi-Fi (Huawei-Guest), please refer to the relevant privacy statement. If you choose to connect to Huawei-Guest, the IP address, MAC address, login and logout time of your mobile device may be collected.


1.3 If you are attending HAS 2020 in person, we will arrange for photos and video to be taken at the conference within the venue that may be used as soft copies and hard copies of audio and video recordings and photos, etc. These materials are only for the purpose of promotion and retention. If you do not want to be photographed or video recorded or do not want Huawei to use records that include you, please let us know in advance. In addition, you understand that Huawei is the copyright owner of such recorded materials and can use them freely; you agree not to charge for use of such recorded materials, and will not file any claims or lawsuits against the third party that makes these records on the grounds of defamation, public or personal privacy infringement, copyright or trademark infringement, unfair competition, etc.


1.4 If you choose to attend via video conferencing, we will collect your email, name, enterprise name, country, and other information needed for registration through the HAS 2020 System.


1.5 If you choose to attend via video conferencing and agree to take video interviews, we will arrange for photos and video of you to be taken for the conference, and generate materials, including but not limited to soft copies and hard copies of audio and video recordings and photos. Such materials will not be used for other purposes than those stated in the video interview briefing book.


1.6 We may invite you to fill out questionnaires, where your personal data (e.g., name and enterprise name), feedback, and suggestions for the event will be collected.


1.7 If you watch HAS 2020 on Huawei's official website, please refer to the relevant privacy statement to learn more about how the official website processes and protects your personal data.


1.8 If you download and use the Huawei Events App to watch HAS 2020, please refer to the relevant privacy statement to learn more about how the app processes and protects your personal data.


In addition, we may use your personal data to conduct internal audits, data analysis, and research to improve our products and services


2.Cookies & Similar Technologies


2.1 Cookie


To ensure our website works correctly, we may at times place a small piece of data known as a cookie on your computer or mobile device. A cookie is a text file stored by a web server on a computer or mobile device. The content of a cookie can be retrieved or read only by the server that creates the cookie. The text in a cookie often consists of identifiers, site names, and some numbers and characters. Cookies are unique to the browsers or mobile applications you use, and enable websites to store data such as your preferences or items in your shopping cart.


Like many other websites or Internet service providers, Huawei uses cookies to improve user experience. Session cookies are deleted after each visit, while persistent cookies remain in place across multiple visits. This means that a user does not need to reset preferences upon every visit. On the contrary, if cookies are not used, websites will treat you as a new visitor every time you load a web page. For example, if you are redirected to another web page from a website you are already logged in to and then return to the original website, it will not recognize you and you must log in again. 2.2 Web Beacons and Pixel Tags


In addition to cookies, we may also use other similar technologies on our websites such as web beacons and pixel tags. For example, when you receive an email from Huawei, it may contain a click-through URL that links to a Huawei web page. If you click the link, Huawei will track your visit to help us learn about your preferences for products and services and improve our customer service. A web beacon is a transparent graphic image embedded in a website or in an email. We use pixel tags in emails to find out whether an email has been opened. You can unsubscribe from the Huawei mailing list at any time if you do not want to be tracked in this manner.

3.How We Disclose Personal Data


Huawei will not disclose your personal data to a third party other than Huawei affiliates and subsidiaries through selling, renting, trading, or other forms without obtaining your explicit consent unless otherwise stated in this Statement or applicable laws. We may access, disclose, and retain your personal data as permitted by law when we have legitimate grounds to believe it is necessary to do so for the following purposes:


3.1 Huawei will disclose your personal data to a third party so that you can enjoy relevant services. For example, the survey service is provided by a supplier; Huawei needs to share your personal information with the hotel to arrange accommodation for you, with the airline to book tickets for you, with event service providers to provide on-site services to you (e.g., sign-in and badge), and with third-party vehicle service providers or travel agencies for providing pick-up and drop-off services;


3.2 To comply with applicable laws or respond to valid legal procedures of law enforcement or other government agencies;


3.3 To protect the security and availability of Huawei information and communication systems by trying to avoid spam or fraud, or to prevent severe physical harm or loss of life, or to prevent or defend Huawei computers or networks against any attacks;


3.4 To protect the IPR, information assets, and other assets and rights of Huawei;


3.5 In addition, as a global company, we may share personal data with Huawei affiliates and subsidiaries. Only necessary data will be disclosed.


4.How to Access & Control Your Personal Data


It is your responsibility to ensure that all personal data submitted to Huawei is correct. Huawei is dedicated to maintaining the accuracy and completeness of personal data and keeping the data up-to-date.

If allowed by applicable laws, you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time when Huawei processes your personal data based on your consent. However, withdrawal does not affect the legitimacy and effectiveness of how we process your personal data based on your consent before the withdrawal is made; nor does it affect any data processing based on another justification other than your consent.

5.How We Protect and Retain Your Personal Data


The security of your personal data is important to us. We take and will continue to take reasonable and appropriate security measures to protect your personal data from unauthorized access, disclosure, use, damage, or loss. For example, we use cryptographic technologies for data confidentiality, protection mechanisms to prevent attacks, and access control mechanisms to permit only authorized access to your personal data. We also provide training on security and privacy protection for employees to raise their awareness of personal data protection. Huawei is not legally liable for any unauthorized access, disclosure, use, damage, or loss of your personal data not caused by us. Huawei is committed to protecting your personal data. However, please note that no security measure is perfect.


We will only retain your personal information for as long as is necessary for the purposes stated in this Statement, unless otherwise extending the retention period is required or permitted by law. We will delete your personal data six months following the start of the Huawei Global Analyst Summit 2020.


6.How We Process Children's Personal Data


Our conference is primarily intended for adults. A child must not create an account without the consent of a parent or guardian. If a child's personal data is collected with prior parental consent, we will only use or disclose the data as permitted by law, with the explicit consent of the child's parents or guardians, or when necessary for the protection of the child. If we accidentally collect a child's personal data without verified prior consent from the child's parents or guardians, we will stop the service and attempt to delete the data as soon as possible.


7.Third-party Suppliers and Services


You may receive services from third parties other than Huawei and its partners. The video conferencing services at HAS 2020 are provided by third parties. Huawei has no control over these third parties or their privacy and data protection policies. These third parties are not subject to this Statement. Please read their privacy and data protection policies before submitting your personal information to them.


8.International Transfers of Your Personal Data


Your personal data will be stored on servers in China.


As a global company, your personal data collected by Huawei may be processed or accessed in the country/region where you use our products and services or in other countries/regions where Huawei or its affiliates, subsidiaries, service providers or business partners have a presence. These jurisdictions may have different data protection laws.


In such circumstances, Huawei will take measures to ensure that data is processed as required by this Statement and applicable laws, which includes when transferring the data subject's personal data from the EU to a country or region which has not been acknowledged by the EU Commission as having an adequate level of data protection, we may use a variety of legal mechanisms, such as signing standard contractual clauses approved by the EU Commission, obtaining the consent to the cross-border transfer of a data subject in the EU, or implementing security measures like anonymizing personal data before cross-border data transfer.

Huawei reserves the right to update or change this Statement at any time. We will release the latest Privacy Statement on this page for any changes. If major changes are made to the Privacy Statement, we may notify you through different channels.
